ABI Has 7th Straight Monthly Rise

Although its pace slowed slightly, November’s Architectural Billings Index increased for the seventh consecutive month.

Compiled by the American Institute of Architects, the ABI is a leading economic indicator for construction: It takes approximately nine months to a year between architecture billings and construction spending.

“Demand for design services has slowed somewhat from the torrid pace of the summer, but all project sectors are seeing at least modest growth,” said AIA Chief Economist Kermit Baker.
