ABI Hits Post-Recession High

In June the Architectural Billings Index hit its highest mark since July 2007, driven largely by demand for institutional projects such as new education and healthcare facilities, public safety and government buildings.

Compiled by the American Institute of Architects, the ABI is a leading economic indicator for construction: It takes approximately nine months to a year between architecture billings and construction spending.
