Unseasonable Weather Leads To More Construction Jobs

Rising numbers of nonresidential construction jobs — likely spurred on by warmer than expected weather — led to an additional 17,000 construction jobs in December, according to an analysis of federal employment data by the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC).

“It is too early to tell whether those gains came because the weather was good enough for crews to keep working well into December or because demand is truly rebounding,” said Ken Simonson, the association’s chief economist.
